Game On Air privacy policy

Effective 2026-10-15.

Game On Air is a camera app for streaming and recording sports games and events (hockey first). It has no accounts of its own, keeps what it stores on the phone, and contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs. Its worker, a Cloudflare Worker at gameonair.ca (or one you deploy to your own Cloudflare account), passes Game On Air's requests for YouTube permission on to Google and runs the optional remote scoreboard.

What the app accesses

DataWhyWhere it goes
Camera and microphone To film the game Encoded on the phone. Sent only to the streaming destination you choose (YouTube, or the RTMP server in Stream key mode) and saved to the phone's Movies/GameOnAir folder.
Your Google account and YouTube channel (scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube) To create, start and end live broadcasts on your channel, give each one the game's cover as its thumbnail, add the game's chapters to its replay, and read the channel's name and picture Requests go directly from the phone to Google, except the two that need Game On Air's OAuth client secret: getting the permission when you link the channel, and renewing it while Game On Air uses it (an hour at a time). Those go through the worker, which adds the secret, passes Google's answer back and keeps nothing. Game On Air keeps the permission (an OAuth refresh token, encrypted with a key in the phone's Android Keystore), the channel id, channel name, thumbnail URL and the ids of the stream and broadcast it created, only on the phone.
Stream key (Stream key mode) To connect to your streaming server Stored only on the phone
Team names, leagues, scores and game and picture settings To draw the sport's scoreboard or overlay, and to pick opponents Stored only on the phone; visible in the video you broadcast
The game on the score panel: team names, places and colours, score, shots, period, clock, penalties, and whether you are live or recording The remote scoreboard, only while you have it turned on Sent from the phone to the worker and on to the phones that opened your link. The worker keeps the game only in memory while it is in use; it stores a random id for the link and a hash of the phone's key, and forgets them after 30 days unused. No people's names, accounts or locations, and the page stores nothing in the scorekeeper's browser. Cloudflare handles the traffic under its privacy policy.
Sponsor logos you pick (photo picker) To show them in the live video The app gets access only to the images you pick and keeps a scaled-down copy in its own storage; visible in the video you broadcast
Battery, temperature, free storage Operator warnings Read on the phone, never stored or sent

What the app does with YouTube

It creates live broadcasts and one reusable live stream on your channel, binds them, ends broadcasts when you stop, and deletes broadcasts it created that never went live. It does not read your other videos, comments, subscribers or analytics. It uploads nothing but the live stream and each broadcast's thumbnail: the game's cover, drawn on the phone from what the video shows anyway (the teams, the score, the day and the rink). After the game it adds the game's chapters (the times of the periods and goals) to the end of the replay's description and leaves the rest of the description as it was.

Game On Air's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Use of YouTube is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

Your control

Children

The app is a tool for adults filming games. Broadcasts are created as "not made for kids". If you film minors, follow your league's rules and consent requirements, and choose the privacy setting (Unlisted or Private) accordingly.
